The title is assuming some kind of equality within the word we live in. Last week I talked about Modern Slavery and who women within the corporate world are still considered the lesser of two. And with two, you know I mean between men and women. The corporate world is just a tip of an iceberg the cherry on some whipped cream.
For centuries the world we know has been developed and created according to men and the corporations is a a good mirror of that. But there is more going on here on this tiny planet we call home. Like a garden there are the smaller critters roaming around as well. There are women, children and boys and some men, obeying the law and rules as they were set by men years ago.
Establishing that men set the rules might be farfetched but it may be close to the truth. It hasn’t been for what, almost 200 years that women finally gained some voting rights and it is since about 30 years women finally can be at the top of a business. There is that rumour of a lady being taken from the bible scriptures, by rulers of a church who were and still are men. Laws created were done by kings by most occasions. There are exceptions of Queens and women but they are but a few as they were mostly seen as the one to bring forth an heir.
Throughout time woman have been the underdog.
It was men raging war setting rules of engagement and women were pretty much just the victims of it, and getting the worst end of the deal by being raped and things like that.
In sports, though maybe more civilized, its men who had set the rules and have those wars like games. Maybe it was some way to make war less painful for them.
So it’s only recently that women can make a career from work, it is only recently that woman have some say in what is going on in their very own country. Hat said there still is a difference between what countries, as some countries still do not like to acknowledge women as capable as men.
This is but all very political and shows how well placed and established men are within those grounds. Making it still hard for women to even get there and be placed in higher ranks.
Further down we find the people who see all this going on but have very little say other than choosing a party that sounds like the right choice. Noticed what I done here?
Women do make rules these days and get laws approved by lobbying a lot. Though if one looks closer it is not for women they stand up, it is for their offspring, the children. Like banning books and getting age approval on video games and films. Though I can agree with their reasoning it is up to parents to be more involved with the upbringing of their children. And this is where we kind of hit a wall. And see once again, two opposing forces and the dividing of gender.
And I am not going into age ranges here.
For boys it is okay to go out late, women need to be home at a certain time and never alone, and not a boyfriend either. Sounds familiar?
Boys can watch porn as for girls should not.
Boys get patched up because scars are cool. The ladies can never ride a bike again.
It is okay for boy to play games for older girls should just stick to playing with dolls.
Baseball is for boys while girls should do ballet
These are just simple examples of how we deal with our children and dividing gender in the process.
It does not stop there as TV has become a big impact of how we see life and perceive gender. Video clips and lyrics that say it is okay for men to just get a hold of women. But soon as it happens the other way around a man’s rule come into play.
Man having lots of woman is cool and makes him a hero.
Women having lots of men is a slut or pretty much lowest of low.
Who ever made said that is pretty much not aware it is still being used today.
What gives men a right to treat women like that and get away with that? Should we not teach respect and get some sense in those little brains. What about all those dads who were brought up that way and teaching their boys the same and because what they know hold back their daughters afraid of what might happen to them since you cannot trust boys.
Isn’t that a clue to change how we bring up our children? Or is this me being a dumb ass?
Two weeks ago I read a true story from a pretty lady, who is part of the LGBT community which led to this post in a way. It showed a guy forcing himself upon her by grabbing hold. This all happened in a Gay/Lesbian club no less. What was going through his dumbass mind to do such a thing? And to tell her she was a bitch or slut (will post link so you can read) when she pushed him away and saying NO in a shocked way. I know that I can go in that kind of club being straight but the least I can do is respect the other people present.
How come a guy can get away with that and have his friends laughing and finding him a hero.
Where do we start dividing gender and where can we start making a world more respectful.
It kind of shows it is still a man’s world out there and though Mr James Brown might is right it is nothing without a woman we men sure lack respect to the matter. Now this generalizing a lot of men and that I can understand and it is not my intention but do you as a man treat the children differently or do you also see the dangers that are called boys/men. It takes one to know one but when do we break through the so obvious old teachings.
Differences are always present but it is no excuse what so ever to box a person in a certain category. A world needs both men and women in all shapes and sizes, Equality it might just be a dream but it starts at home. I am but a hopeless romantic and a dreamer, liking to see a future with mutual respect to one and all.
Best Wishes

Ps. I know this is about men and I am sure there is something to say about women. And we men would have been nowhere without the women.
Link to the lovely lady: The Lesbian in a dress. The article was called: he creepy people at the bar.
Yeah the title is a big word and an awful word at that, but the truth is that even in our modern time it is something of every day. Maybe not as visible as it once was or under a different name it is manifesting itself.
We know of our ancestors, who used different tribes or simple poor people as slaves to their dirty work. Getting shot if they were of no value, not they had much value they still got sold if money was to be made of them. Whether we look in The United States or Europe and even Asia had here share of slavery. Captured enemies on a slave ship or just captured men from another continent. It was or is behind us.
Or so we do like to think, because in many countries slavery is still happening, but we do not see it as such. Soon as we think people get paid it isn’t slavery anymore. Though that is not true either, think simple like season workers who work under assumption of getting paid but money is not yet paid, Work another day than maybe you get paid. And they do so under minimum wage. And if you have worked for 2 weeks you want some compensation.
Child labour we still see it in Asia and the Middle east, it is just another form of modern day slavery. Sweatshops and let us face it, we all heard of them once in the news, where women work under cruel conditions for a small wager. Don’t think slavery is gone just because it has a different name.
People have been fighting to get rid of slavery and even now those in most western countries who do not hold on to the concept are still being seen as slave drivers. Upholding the term and stating you are slaves though you come from a free country is preaching slavery as well. It is slavery in form of words, holding a grip on those who never even heard of or participated in the act. Using it as a snare to suffocate people is slavery in a new form. What did not happen to us is by all means not an excuse to use it as retaliation because our ancestors have done so.
To think that the entire world was part of enslaving people would make us sick in the stomach.
Now let us rewind a little and add a new part in the story.
Women have been formed by what men always have believed as to be the truth. The free fought image we see today in Western countries is not what it always have been. It was dictated by men and though the women have fought for voting rights and more equality, the era of women fights is not over. If one talks slavery one can easily go as far as to say that women were enslaved at home, doing the birthing and cleaning and cooking. It was the overall picture sketched by men.
Not forgetting though that without women we would not have won the war, it was them who worked hard making bullets and shells and god knows what else to keep the troops well armed.
It took them years to get some rights and now we are wishing for more women to reach the top of companies. Another aspect of today’s society that is being dominated and still is being shaped by men as we speak. And why would I even bring this up in a post about modern day slavery. Well I am getting to that.
In the higher ranks of companies in seats of CEO or the likes we do like seeing more women so the company can represent the average of their targeted consumers. But truth is that a lot of women do not get to the top due to some rules and manners of men. In order to make it to the top one needs to commit a long time to the company. This goes for men and women, there is just a slight difference and that is that women do and can get pregnant. It is a rule that men made that a break or hiatus due to giving birth is not good for a career as you have to leave the company and miss some rulings.
Another reason where men are different in reaching the higher up ranks is that when asked both if they are ready for the job, a guy is most likely to say, ready 24/7 as for a woman might say sure okay. It is where us men kind of go misinterpret and think she is not sure or does not want to give it her all. So the man is chosen.
Let us get back to modern day slavery with this short thing in mind about why we see so little women at the top. There have been some studies for this. I personally think it is bullshit. I honestly think a woman could still make a career after having had a hiatus. They are smart intelligent humans after all.
So the new idea of Facebook and Apple is to pay women to freeze in some eggs so they can focus on becoming men and reach the top. Sure it is an interesting proposal. Well over ten thousand dollars to freeze them in and then the average of a thousand dollar a week or month to keep them frozen in storage. Holing a carrot in front of a nose and hope they will bite and work. And getting a bonus every month on top of a salary, it sounds really good.
But what if you still get pregnant? Gone is your bonus, gone is your change of a career, gone is your job. I mean frozen eggs so you can become more of a men and devote life to a company is no guarantee. You still will be having sex, like a man. Except unlike a man you can still get pregnant. To force or better to hold that carrot in front of someone is just the same as slavery in my eyes.
It takes away the essence of being a woman. Cold calculated thoughts and ideas that need an answer. A answer that is just as cold and calculated, just like a man would make and have been making for many years. There is no emotion involved here. Emotion that make a woman a woman.
Studies have said that a board with more than 30% being a woman changes for the better of their consumers/customers. So just getting 1 or 2 women on the board against 10 men is not making a difference but rather creating men out of these women. Women who chose to throw everything out the door just to get a bonus and a change are just as calculated as men already are. Will they be any different from the men when in the boardroom, most likely the answer would be, no.
What apple and Facebook are doing is nothing more than modern day slavery. Holding out a carrot and having women do their bidding.
And I am not even considering men who become the stay at home dads so the wife can make a career, those men still stand a better change in getting their function back when they want to go back to work. In correlation to women who have to step down most of the time.
We men haven’t changed, we still think we can manage women, we still believe or do create their image as we see fit. How stupid are we. That modern day slavery is just being re-invented.
And I haven’t even talked about modern day human trafficking and exploiting of women. Something that needs to stop. It comes with abuse and that is never right. Hitting women or depicting women as useless or just good for one thing is still very much going on in almost a third of the world. Woman being nothing more than an object. It has to stop.

I love how one can play with words. This one is made by, Nora Ephron.
Ladies above all, be the heroine of your life, not the victim.
Women take control over your body and life, it is yours after all.
Wow trying something completely new today. I am shaking like a straw in a storm, creating more streams with me sweating than the rain can do in a day. Keeping my fingers crossed over here. So bear with me.
A talk about books. And I for one am a crappy reader. That would be like 3 pages a day. But the books I am talking about here today had me captivated and even inspired me to write the past week about women including today’s post. Our paths have crossed here on WordPress and I was blessed by receiving her little gems, she published all by herself, with a warm smile and a personal touch from the author herself.
I think she rocks.
Be sure to know she is a lady with a story to tell. Hers!
And that is how it will be, start to finish. Every word you read breaths her joy and pains, smiles and tears. Filled with short stories and lovely poetry. with the emphasis on being a woman, from the woman’s perspective.
Yeah you heard me, being a woman. Does that mean men should not read it? Well if one would listen to a Ranting Crow and take his advice, than the answer is, no. Read it. Enjoy it. As it is full of smart, witty and humorous writing that can have us men smile, at how we are perceived by a woman. And vice versa.
She might have been called a feminist – after book two – for that, but from what I have read it is an insight of a smart lady who is capable of using humour to tell her experiences with men, being a woman a daughter and a mum. There is so much more she wrote on her journey to becoming the woman she is today. Through the valleys she managed to climb up the hills that laid on her path.
The stories can easily become one, to identify yourself with. And have you shed a tear when you feel some loss or smile when you know exactly what she is talking about when it comes to men trouble for example.
Guess before I continue I should start with telling you all the name of the books.
It all starts with “Wake up a Woman”.
Stories on how one is born a little girl and getting through the teenage years to become a woman. What is it like to be a young woman that grows up and struggles with what life throws at you. The temptations, the joys and sadness.
She held a mirror in front of herself through out her life and wrote down the words in all honesty. Channelling her feelings into the ink that spilled across the pages.
Poetry being a part of her writings that ooze femininity. With seemingly raw reads that read as easy as a story. In depth uncovering of what it means to be a woman and so much more.
The following links are from the book “Wake up a Woman”.

The story: White shoulders
The poem: This is an uprising
As I spoke of three little books we come to a point to also reveal title number two.
Her second little gem is called “History of a Woman”.
It starts with a story, on how much she needs to be, a multi talented being called a woman. The stories on these pages are her very own interpretations, of stories from men about women, bring a smile to your face. To see her dive in the psyche of man who think woman and sex and adding her wicked tongue to make it a read to remember. Take it from me, a man, who is being portrait as sometimes bad influence or a little sexist.
True enough, I should maybe thank her, for teaching a thing or two about women. Straight forward is what I would call the poetry, showing women through out history and how they are looked upon.

Or as she so nicely liked to put it. “HIS-tory of a Woman”.

The story: The Check
Book number three, the last in line and I hope with some encouragement we can have her write another.
Maybe a collection of poetry or a pretty book. But that is getting ahead of things for now.
The title of the third is, “The Telling”.
Taking a trip through the mind of the women psyche. A bundle of short stories and poetry.
A simple flake of snow turning a big avalanche as she comes down a mountain. Ripping open her bony cage and laid bare her heart. It is raw to the bone. A pure and honest form of writing that everyone who would read it, is reading about themselves. The words touch you, there where they come from. Reality put in words and sometimes even in but a couple of sentences.

The story: Submisive
Surely now you wondering why a guy is talking about being a woman. This guy, a crow no less is telling what it means, or even takes to become and be a woman. He has smiled and shed a tear reading the hilarious and sometimes deeply profound stories she told. This crow already had respect for women, but after this gained even more. Maybe it is true that reading from the female perspective can become hard on men. For sure it will at least open an eye, even if it is just a tiny little bit. Or so we like to hope.
Did I not say I was hoping for more.
The last “News Flash” I can bring you is, that she is working on a new collection of her poetry that might be coming our way. It will be called Perjury. More information can be found here.
Ladies I salute you, I bow to thee who have to do so much. For us kids, yes us men are to.
For everyone, give those titles a read or visit her page right here on WordPress. You will not regret it, that I can promise you. I for one enjoy visiting her and call her my friend. She rocks in my little black book.

Will there be more? Maybe. at a rate of 3 pages a day it might take a while.
Small side note. She has, like Lady Fury nominated me for a ‘Liebster Award’. More to know on the crow On the following Tuesday. Keep your eyes open.
