Do we really need the guidance from websites? What is up with does sites who redirect us to a page we do not want to go to. Is it so wrong of wanting to read American news through Yahoo for example? Why if i try to go to yahoo.com I end up on the Dutch yahoo site. Do they really think we are so dumb we cannot think for ourself on where we go?
I for one do not have a problem with the English language, so I do go to United Kingdom or United States websites to read news and to look up information if I need any. I know where I am going and know the language that will be shown, so please stop showing me or redirecting me to sites I do not want to visit.
Now search engines are just as bad, and getting worse. Already trying to predict what you will be writing is there first step. Annoying if you do pay attention to the search bar. All that jumping around of words. But you cannot shut it off.
Uh do not get me wrong but I already know what I will be searching for and the word I want to write down and do so without looking at the screen. No need for predictions.
Than there is the spellings check. Guess we do not need schools anymore if we need websites to correct our spelling. While we try and search for something of which we already know the word of. And should know to write.
So do we need their guidance? Do we need to have programs telling us what language we need to install it in? Or what language we want to read a website in?
I do not need that I know where I am going and I am well aware of my limitations on reading French for example. Why can they not let us think for ourself. Why do they think they need to redirect us or even control what we want to read. Because that is how it feels to me.
You might think I am old fashioned, but I grew up with the Internet and liked it a lot, but now it slowly starts to push me away for it feels as if those people who create those programs or algorithms look down on us as if we are dumb. It s then my opinion they are not making it easier or simpler for us but makes us dumber and make us more dependable on them then we might realize. Do not make the teachers disappear just because you think we have spellings check. And since programs nowadays download the install file before even installing have them ask the language beforehand. I maybe Dutch but I do everything in the English language.
Thought of the day: Innovate yourself instead of waiting for innovations
