I am Human!

Just a few words that came floating up inside me during my nightly walk! Or what was left of the words.

I am Human!

I am human
flawed in many ways
sharp around the edges
I recite the words written
with a burning desire
to express that
what is
weighing me down.
Each word a moment
of silence
a breath
in an immense universe.
Filled to the brim
with emptiness
and honesty.
Spoken in whispers
silencing the screams
I stand before you.
Percussion of a heart
the humming of the soul.
embracing sweet love,
fighting bitter anger.
Exerting a saint to
hide my sinner.
I am human
flawed in many ways
But I am learning to stand
as my own
on my own
Just like you!

Image in a Mirror!

I always use a mirror when I look at myself even if there is none. Reflecting on my life and my choices and understanding, or at least trying to, the person I have become.

Words get lost
in the echoing
heart wrenching
cries.
You desperately
try to ignore
as they seep
into your soul.
There,
before you.
Nothing
is to be seen
but that
of a selfish beast.
Sleep deprived,
blood red
eyes,
darkened and gloomy.
Stare at a reflection
of a stranger.
Trail of tears
disgusted,
about the reality
shown.
Washing away
the lies and deceit.
Ruffled and clawed
by nails
scars unfold.
Unmasked.
Plagued
by defeat
he’s what you
have become.
And swore never to be.
The image in a mirror.
