The economy damages the people!
I might use hard words or seem harder than one might think. Yet we are always concerned about money. It drives us, it is our number one priority in our lives. But how important is it really. Is it all that matters. Does it stop us from thinking of others and other things? Worries piling up to the point we see no other way out.
Now try not to get the title wrong as nature is stronger than we like to admit. But it is about our nature, it is in our nature to try and escape nature as we know it and have succeeded in creating an artificial reality that has become our nature and we do not know any better anymore.
In a world that is based on nature and we who may have lived like animals held these rules high. It is a survival of the fittest the strong warrior who will make sure the tribe thrives. In ancient times they were the foundation and rulers. Next to them a woman who was cunning and smart and held some believes. This is all obviously only true if we used to live like this. But it makes sense.
We have changed those rules and created new ways to build a new system based on wealth instead of strength. Brains over anything else. We have started to believe money builds a society and not so much the people. Creating a pyramid on which the rich stand so money cascades down. But always end at the top.
But what happened to the strong and those with muscle they still are at the foundation but not as they used to be. They provide but not rule.
The strong at the bottom of the pyramid. As they hold t al up. One who crumbles is not much of an issue as weight is distributed I know. But in the end they carry everything. The thing is in nature only the strong survive, but we managed to changed that to who ever holds the most money.
Mind you they can buy anything they want and control our world. They do, because we think they have the brains to do so. And though we might be right in that way even a builder has brans. He is not stupid. He knows full well if he wasn’t there no home would be build that rich man would live in.
So this builder becomes a corner stone of our society, not the rich man who gives away to charity. If we throw things topsy-turvy we can’t balance that same pyramid on this one rich dude. Unless he buy more help and asks a builders for some extra pillars.
So in a world where it is; only the strong surviving or battle of the fittest. We created the rich rule. They are most likely the ones hiding in a bunker when a zombie war breaks out or the world is covered in some toxic cloud. Fly their jet to let us say Greenland or another island. They can, they have the means and money. But the builder will smash his hammer down and survive. He is there to rebuild the world only to be overpowered with the one who has a jet.
Status is everything these days. We need to have it all, in order to be noticed. We need to go along with everyone else if we like to mean something. Though how much of it is ruled from the top and how much is truly building our world. No need to argue who is paying for all this as money is just a creation we created out of thin air
Why do we have this system. We argue that the Caste in India is old fashioned and yet we have a similar system. If our tower collapses or pyramid the one on top falls the furthest yet always on top, killing all below him. The lowest builder. Who will build him a house then.
(To us it has become more of a tower with foundation that is becoming to small to old our economy in place our way of life. According to the set rules.)
It is for this reason we also see real craftsmanship disappear. People who knew a trade or craft are being suffocated by big companies. Losing knowledge of how to make a horse’s shoe by hand. Or how to work wood. It is this kind of thinking we do that the ones with money know best that ruins our world. We to have some blame as we invent to make life easier, yet we know less of how it was done in the first place.
Even a mum today and I mean the young mums might not even know how to heat a bottle without a microwave, if they were never told. To be honest, I did not think anymore. Microwave 60 seconds perfect. Tried ones to check heat and know for the rest of the time. No more thinking just do.
So what is left of the nature’s way. How much have we left behind of our animal instincts and rely on creations to do our bidding. Not saying we should go back to being savages, but at least we should not forget where we came from and who we are.
Transcending nature we will never be able to do, no mater how far we are trying to run away right now. One day if the theory of evolving is true we will only come closer to nature. and maybe not as violent like we were in our caves, but still closer.
Guess the strong will one day tell us while the rich fly in their space ships, we continue to evolve and grow.
If one would ask me what a future may look like and who will have the plans for it. It would be the ones who dare to change and not have profit in mind. And create enough for everybody. Though I am sure there will always be those cunning money makers who will buy and use their rules to make it very hard for that to happen.
It is our creation, an unfair world based on rules that are not natures own but man made.
But this may just be a madman’s rant.
What does freedom mean to us these days.
Our freedom is regulated by money.
It depends how much money we have to buy freedom. It is maybe bold to say this yet we have bound ourself with money. How free would we be without it? A question with disturbing and very different answers.
Money is a piece of paper that used to be have a value that was measured by gold. Once controlled by true markets instead of banks and money owners. Funny to see thought that I mentioned a market society when a true market society won’t ask the tax payer to help a bank back on its feet. Just because a government said so. But we have become a big consumers driven by an artificial rate of interest. Just lowering the interest has made it easier for people to loan some money but what if the rate goes back up. How would we fare then with all our debt.
So we have let go of a measuring instrument at some time. And started manipulation of interest rates and even the value of money. When we look closer to money the value are a bit not even a byte, and in our hands had the same value as confetti.
Sure it says a Dollar or Euro but due to so much printing it has been reduced to almost zero.
Ever since the 70’s a crisis in the 80’s and last time in 2008 when a bank fell down. I mean bank the institute that should service us with keeping money safe. The interest given was made by the interest they received by loans. But we gave banks more power and see a government to hold a finger in this porridge and stir to their content.
Just wanting to print money to rage a war for example. It reduces money to nothing. African countries have been a great example of that. And even a great country like the USA have invested a lot of money in wars that never will return into the economy. Can we truly justify that kind of spending?
Burning money and letting it go up in smoke reduce to the air we breath.
It is a small example and maybe a low blow but how far has it gone.
In earlier times gold was the standard to which paper got their value from. It was the back bone of the economy. Now we have more bits and bytes rushing through the internet and in clouds than we have gold in vaults. And with that has gold prices go up to even around 1200 Dollar an ounce. Though that is only in word as money pretty much lost its value.
But how could it have lost value. The market has a principal that when the demand is higher than the ???? it takes more pieces of paper to buy. Gold is the same thing. Demand is higher than we can transfer as I mentioned before there is more money going around than the gold can handle.
It suggests that we still have gold as a solid value. But it isn’t solid any more due to us playing with interest rates.
Here in Europe it means that we have a crisis and one guy controlling the banks, printing more money keeping rates low except for Greece. Every one benefits right? Most countries have a debt and low interest rates means that a lot of people would have to pay less taxes to pay of the interest. Yet that is not the case. Because when money doesn’t have any value it means we still need to pay a lot in numbers. Instead of just one piece of paper we have to give a hundred.
For to long now have been changing the ruler or other measuring device to match our needs and directions. Instead of letting the economy measuring itself against a set standard.
Imagine if we change the ruler so it would match perfectly to a single inch instead of a 1.2. It is crazy to think we can do so with money. If a gallon is a gallon we can’t make it in a litre just because we want it to be. But with money we change the rules. We can say one dollar becomes two. If it will keep books balanced.
We play with money and change rates as if it means nothing. Worthless pieces of paper getting a price. And we pay the price when they loose their set value.
It has become unfair that we need to keep economy turning and getting banks back on their feet. What happened to the responsibility for their own loss. Why does that have to fall down on to the consumers and taxpayers.
When we have a company or business we need to also take responsibility of loss instead of relying on new formed laws and rules that have a government safe their asses or better yet the taxpayer. In some ways our economy has taken on distorted forms and has blind sighted us from the real issues and problems.
But this comes from an normal city kid with no education in economics or any other kind for that matter. This is an opinion based on what i see and read. Financial newspapers, news and even the internet. Give it some thought on why we need to safe a bank… Why the government has decided to safe those companies who are on the brink of going bankrupt.
Would it be okay to let it all implode and start all over again. I do not have an answer but it might be not so bad as we think. Also what is a byte worth or what is electronic money worth? If it is nothing than a written bit and byte it is worthless. Yet we believe it to be obsolete.
Yes Progress comes from change, though if the change is made artificially so would the progress be.
A thought that has changed our needs.
Money isn’t a source of happiness!
It is a world where money has become a need and sometimes even more important than living itself. I think happiness comes from living life with a smile and that itself don’t cost much.
