Monday moaning: Lifestyle MindsetĀ
New and improved. Every cycle of around 5 to ten years we come up with something new that would make our life in body and mind better. As humans we are the best in make believe and even hold on to it as truth. Pushing it upon friends and family while others just smile and laugh.
Yeah that would be me among others. As I see the same thing happening just with a different name. I guess it has something to do with us feeling and being happy. As long as our ego is happy it doesn’t matter and it certainly needs comforting and pampering.
We want to hold on to that happy-go-lucky feeling and pursue it till the end or until we finally smarten up and start to defy the set circumstances. Seriously it sound more funny than it really is.
None the less I am pretty sure you won’t take my word for it, unless I have some disputable evidence or something in that manner. But there is none as we grown blind to it or most of it.
Lifestyle Mindset. The words alone mix well as it could very well describe our way of thinking. Do not forget that last weeks Moan has a part in this as well. Tv shows us what we want to see. Make us feel happy or give us a change to pay of our guilt. Show with the worst case scenario so we would feel happy enough we are not I that situation. And after go ‘Ooooh’ and ‘Aaaaaw’ because they got helped with money or something.
At the same time there are more people I that predicament who receive nothing. Should we be happy that a single family was helped or could we get up so we can help more ourselves? Just something I do wonder on occasion. But we feel to euphoric to even go there. It is not u and we are in love. Great mindset don’t you think.
Same as watching celebs dance, swim, dive, or even kill each other our mind goes blanc and we have that moment of peace at mind.
To me the worst are the commercials that ask money for stray dogs or donkey with curly toes and the bears that are locked in cages. Horses cripple in the mud. We all known them we all seen them and we all, including me, simply state one thing. BASTARDS. So we give money (I don’t) for every year I see the same dog and the same bear still imprisoned, mistreated. Why do we not see how they were helped rescued. Where is that money going to. I am sorry but do we know our shelters are full of stray dogs you can easily help by taking one home. At least we know where the money is going to.
A mindset that buys away guilt and follows the very much addicted feel of euphoria.
But the other word I used in the title is lifestyle. A certain way of living we like to keep high and up.
So we buy magazines with great looking homes or how we can improve our health or mindset. First we are amazed houses like that even exist and are bigger than the 3 bedroom you own combined and that was just the bathroom. Does it not make you feel wonderful watching it.
Health magazine are or were, as I do not follow trends, hot about Kale. Ooh yeah the vegetable that is tough but ooh so healthy. A hype emerged and every one needed that one machine to turn fruit and kale in a healthy drink. Just buying that machine made you feel healthy already. Oh and yes I smiled because I have been eating that kale every year since the days I could walk. Trend seriously how fooled do we have to be. And sure enough it won’t stop there as every time things change that are assumed better for you. But weren’t first.
In the food industry that is a common thing by the way. Though I talked about that in another moan before. What has been bad for decades is now healthy. What we discarded decades ago is now hot and trendy. Organic food anyone.
But lifestyle mindset is best shown thorough our blindness for the high quality advertisements in those magazines. It does not matter if we talk food, house, health or even the Dalai Lama in a feel better live better magazine. Each of these have those ad pages with over priced goodies to make you feel better. And that is our lifestyle mindset. Buy and be happy.
Okay I might have crossed a line taking the Dalai Lama into this but the magazines do have those adds. By this candle with cinnamon fragrance and let your home feel calm and warm. But the price is 60 dollars. A golden locket to guide your path into tranquillity. And when we talk the beauty of the mind in these magazines we also see a lot of products and creams for the face and body. Is that the kind of mindset we seek within a certain lifestyle. Lok better on the outside so we can feel better on the inside.
Our lives are bound by the fact we need to buy to feel happy. Spending money is our road to happiness. How else can we have the same room as shown in that picture. How else can we have that waterproof phone. I have been just a guilty I won’t deny it.
Trends are to lure us into buying and as good as they may look it does not help us in search of happiness.
And while we live this kind of lifestyle with a twisted mindset we do miss seeing things out there that matter. We are slowly turning blind to our surroundings.
Though once you had nothing the world is different and some of my readers know that, they been there as well. If you had very little you are able to look up and see the flaws you made. We look beside us and see those in the same situation, struggling as everyone else is still looking up.
Let us face it, whenever it is over the top or just whenever the word ‘to much’ or ‘to little’ is used we need to reconsider what is important and wise. To much of anything is wrong. To little of something is just as bad.
Think for yourself and try to open your eyes and see a world behind our so called happy lifestyles. It is the best mindset we can have.
Best wishes
