Music Friday: U2! 

At first I wasn’t sure or rather had not thought of an artist that had been colouring my youth. With lots od old music I grew up myself in upcoming pop, rap and dance scene. So much had changed in just a little time. Had to crack my brain today to come to the following name. U2.

The memory of them was from around the age of 8 when they came with ‘New Year’s day’ and ‘Sunday bloody Sunday’. Clearly they have been around a while longer and had some other song before these like ‘I will follow’. They left a great impression on a young man like myself. Unaware of what they meant at that time they changed a lot around us. More so when the meaning of the song came over the years. To me the music was just following the path of guitars I already listened to but adding that edge of new wave to it. All in all it was a refreshing sound that swept me away.

Frolic Friday! May 2016

What do you know. It is another first Friday of yet a new month. Just thinking about, we are about two months away of the half year mark. And here I am just rambling through my fingers that dance across the keyboard. Happy that is weekend or almost, depending on the part of the world you are living on.

This day is used to have some information on what is going on my blog, in my life and plans that still need to take form at some stage.

When we talk plans there are not many. I am pretty pleased with what I am doing on the ‘Ranting Crow‘. Also it is the shape I feel most comfortable with. Regretting I haven’t done a Sensual Sunday Story for a long time. It may have been due to various reasons I do not need spilling here. But that is changing, that I can promise you. The first one up will be a double and if my fingers keep up in the time span a triple length.

Rather than to dip into the hotness of just the story, I also regained some love back for the art of drawing. I am still nowhere near mastering it let alone ever having had any lessons. Beside the basic of basics. ‘Binding Roses‘ was the cause of this revival. Where I used a half finished sketch that I like to see through into a drawing at some point after starting over.

Sure enough the imagination is taking me for a spin and have me run n circles.

This is not a bad thing as such, though I might over estimate my self into pursuing it all. Going back some time I remember being tired after doing to much and overexerting the body and mind bringing me in a dark and troublesome state of depression and tiredness. In the end it is about controlling oneself and come out on top. So I will be taking it easy and stop hen I feel it being to much.

Now in order to keep on writing my fan-fiction and after the Ben-to there is already a story lined up. There will be a new site made to accommodate both stories. and maybe even more if I get of my arse and maybe find some people to write there as well. The new look will become a fact. Having more writers join in is an idea. Soon as I have changed its name and address I will be sure to let everyone know. Same will be when I decide to ask if any one wishes to join the fan-fiction-writers page.

Last might well be the idea that I had the last half year. Which I could get myself to create it in a form I would and would be enjoyed by the reader as well as the partaker. The idea was an interview except with a twist.

An idea to blog hop and take with me at least a question from the previous partaker in this form and have them also select the next to be interviewed. Kind of like to see where each step would take me and go around the world this way. But it takes a lot of time to come create question for the person I would be visiting. For some reason I had the plan to make a new set of questions based on their blog.

It meant a lot of reading for me and I just do not have that time nor do I want to take time from my time outdoors. Thus the idea is cancelled. I was looking forward to see what questions the interviewed would have for the following interview.

Do I have anything else to say or mention?

Not that I can think of at this moment.

Friday’s Favourites!

Friday’s Favourites is all about some of my own favourite writings and a little back story on the posts it self.

I am not someone who can recite the things I wrote, as most are or were written in the spur of the moment. Reading how ever is a different story and on occasion I am reminded of my past writings by those who inspire me. Not considering myself to be a great poetry writer, I do give it a shot here and there. It is mostly this that gave me an idea to revisit old posts.

Since I have created 4 categories inside the Poetry Library I call, The Crow’s Blood Spills I will spend a couple of Fridays revisiting each and every one of them and select a few of my favourites. It is not a top 5 as I can’t say which I love the most. They are all part of me.

The third category I’m revisiting today will be the Love & Life! And it is not exaggerating to say we all have our fights and victories in love and life. Insights into the darkness of the heart and truth, cutting through shadows revealing a person who wants to live and love. This I tried to convert into words using my simplicity.

Secrets Untold!:  It is one of the earlier works about how we keep secrets, that eats us from within. And no matter how much we want to speak we won’t

Feeling the Scars!: A painful discovery of memories and our hidden sorrows behind a clear skin and maybe cracked mask. Just sitting in a corner or closet until we can show ourselves again to the world.

I am Humankind!: Many of you know the ‘thoughts of the day’ or even the ‘Monday Moaning’. Each with a slap for you to have some thought. This writing, or so I thought, is us or could be us.

Love Insanity!: Simply because love is driving us insane to keep a sane mind and heart. Or something like that was going through the mind.

Silent Serenade!: I have to say this is one high on a favourites list if I’d make one. Sang from the heart kept inside the heart for the unanswered or lost love. For me the words came through an unforeseen death of a loved one.

When it is music Friday I have lots of music rushing through my head. And most all have a reason to be there as songs are related to memories. It is the magic of music, or just one of the many reasons music catches us. A song portraying emotions we are feeling clinging on to what we had have or want.

This time it is music that was mostly written before I was born, but were the records you would find inside the box left by your parents. Earth & Fire is a progressive rock band. I already had Friday about Shocking Blue that was formed around the same time and was also from this small country I was born in. It is memories of youth and their record player. Though the music makes me feel old in some ways, there is that smile seeing that black vinyl turn on the turntable. Mesmerized by the needle floating across the surface it is scratching. Magic.

transparent like glass
Autumn,
sparrows in the sky
while the leaves on the branches are drying
Spring,
sound of a newborn life
I think I’m moving on ’cause it’s time
To unknown places
But I don’t care at all
I try to find my destiny
I couldn’t sleep

A never-ending dream

You changed the nightmare in the night

Another day is dawning
Another night has gone
Nothing lasts forever

Sometimes it’s hard to say
What you feel comes out in a funny way

She forces him

Trapped in a world of treachery
Hooked on this way of life
By now you no longer feel pain
Selling your soul in the blistering rain
The way to survive
Is by playing this dangerous game

that the birds return
the season is on the turn
and the blossom
is adorning the land
Darkness of the night has gone
a blackbird sings a song at dawn
crystal drops of morning dew
are covering all the grass
the landscape wears its morningdress

A laurel wreath for the future graves
Of the marching children.

Music Friday: The Kinks

Yeah I was born in an age of new and upcoming music, blessed with many different sounds of the past that have an echo in today’s music. As a child it was a rich time and as a teen one starts to find their own path. But I can never shake of the incredible sounds of the early days.

So I am taking you back a little, to years before I was born but can still make the people today smile.

Naturally I will try to use their very own lyrics to create something new. I hope you enjoy the read and songs.
