Kittens roll in laughter hearing Timmy make this comment, silence by a gesture from Richard. “No need to laugh about that they are putting themselves in great danger for this city. But no it is called the Fishy Lighthouse as it is the starting point where all our fish comes to land. Just follow me and be quiet about this.” 

Cynthia walks up to Richard and looks him deep in his eyes. His head averts her stare as he is unable to look at hers. “Tommy…”. Her voice is soft and filled with questions … “Please look at me and tell me why you kept this  a secret from me, you lived for so many years, you stood at the base of all this.” 

His head tilts away, with tiny shakes back and forth he turns his head, til their eyes meet and he sees her love and excitement. It calmed his mind and eased his pose. “You are right dear, but like you I did not want to worry you hearing about me being with dogs. They have been your enemies for so long. And yes, I did no about a life with the dogs. So if you let me, let me show you and the kittens. Cooky and Kitty I am sorry, I hope you will still be working with us after hearing this story.” 

Kitty stood beside Lady Chambelle and explains how she felt about the entire ordeal “We are in this with Milady Chambelle and we follow her everywhere. We heard the stories from the journal and stand behind her believes we can achieve it again.”Cooky laughed in pain. Short of breath after she ran after the kittens to gather them for the upcoming moments. 

Richard smiles and licks his paw before combing it across his head. “I am glad to hear you take such care of my Lady and stand by her in times of need… Now okay lets us go and let me tell show you what I meant with the secret.” 

He pulls a lever hidden in a drum. With a click the door is opened and Richard leads the way together with his Cynthia, Lady Chambelle by his side. The kittens with copper skip behind him. Cooky and Kitty close the ranks as they pass through. They entered the small shack that was a whole lot bigger than what the outside suggested.It is filled with drums and old boxes. Old lamps that hold the smell of oil lay broken on wooden tables. Richard stood still net to another door. Its steel rusted and old with a big locking mechanism has the kittens drop that little jaws. 

“It is so big” and a big  long “wow” cross their lips. 

“Beyond this door is the other world, the one you are told to avoid, I hope you understand the impact it will have if it was known to either side. So please behave.” 

Richard turns the big wheel and unlocks the door. His body leans back to throw his weight into opening the door. The small streak of light shines on to the floor and becomes bigger as the door opens more. Richards shadow has been cast down as he pushes the door further open. Without any warning everyone is startled as Duncan jumps through the door and barks like crazy.

It did not last all that long as a cat was coming out of the secret doorway. His head was lowered and in a mumbling state as he continued to walk. “No… no… this can’t be… what to do?’ His little paw is rubbing across his face, his body leaning against the door to close it. 

The kittens and the ladies all sit quietly and astonished he has not seen them stand right in front of him. To scared to move but with hair raised they stand still. Copper has stopped his growl and stands relaxed in an upright position and wagging his little tail. His tongue fell to the side out of his mouth. His entire demeanor shows he is waiting for something. 

When the cat almost reaches the kittens copper could not hold back anymore and jumped. Pushing the cat over and lay his paws on the poor cats chest. Short high pitched barks between lots of licks in the face, he wags his tail vigorously. 

“Copper, down” lady Chambelle tries to calm copper down. She noticed he did not want to harm but still she can’t let the pup crush this cat. “Copper…” 
All the kittens shout and scream thinking their playmate was attacking a cat. Each and everyone of the little jumped on to Copper, in an attempt to stop him as well. 

-“Ah here your are you little rascal, we’ve been looking for you Duncan… Your mother is worried sick…” 

Lady Chambelle froze. She recognized that voice. She has been listening to it for quite some time now. 

-“Come on now Duncan… take it easy… ” 

“Tommy…? You…?” Her paws points a single toe to the man crawling from underneath Copper.  

Richard dusts off his clothes as Copper’s attention is drawn back to the playful kittens. With a smile on his face he looks at his wife and the maids. “Hello Cynthia dear, I see you found a secret. Cooky and Kitty fancy seeing you here as well. Who would have thought you would have Duncan in your care.” 

“Who is Duncan? Or do you mean Copper?” 

-“The little pup here is called Duncan. It is the name his mother gave him. And he had run off, the little rascal is playful as ever. How did you find this place” 

“Tommy what do you mean what is going on here?” Her eyes water up as she tries to explain how she got here. The ideas spawned from when William left, her desire to do more and the love of the stories her Tommy told her. Each of them awakened her to took her to this day. “I am sorry I did not tell you, I thought it was best not to tell anyone we had a puppy and even wanted to rescue more or have more. Though Tommy no one of your journals was about what you are doing here?” 

Richard nods his head in approval and smile at the stories thrown in his lap by the kittens and his wife.” Cynthia, how about I let all of you in on a secret and show you. But it means you all have to be very quiet about this. Oooh I almost forgot… Mc Sniff and William are doing great, last news is they are heading for the Fishy Lighthouse.” 

Timmy rises to his feet “What is a fishy lighthouse, never heard of that kind of fish…”

Like jaguars on all fours the cats sprint after copper. The kittens leaping over bushes trying to keep copper in their line of sight. They create a string that curves through the fields and woods until they se copper leap up against the wall. 
“What is it boy, come on… What is wrong copper… You can’t run off like that.” Each and every kitten tries their best to hold him down and keep him quite afraid they will be discovered. 

The Kittens one by one speak their mind as they reached him. Have that little smile of delight he was doing okay. And was not discovered by other cats or worse the palace guards. They pull on the dresses of a tired and old Cooky, and bombard Kitty with loads of question about what could have caused this. 

Kitty and Cooky know full well where they are and soon as Lady Chambelle arrives. She stands tall next to her sister, with her lungs taking in a deep breath. You can see in her eyes that she is coming up with a plan. 

The once so elegant and silent Cynthia Chambelle, married an outsider the writer, who created this world. Never gotten her nails dirty and drank her tea with friends. She smiled and enjoyed life an helped the smallest when she could. Buying them presents on their birthday or came by with cake. Though ever since William the Hero showed up and told her about life outside this world he wanted to do more. 

She heard the stories from her husband though they were only a very few. He hardly did anything other than write stories and sat in his library, staring at the stars. Journals full of his days h went out with a back pack. He helped make this Paris but always from a distance or so it all seemed to her. She felt sorry she never asked but William brought more to this world. 

He was a live and daring despite his fears he rose to the challenge and over came them by fighting for what he believed in. Lady Chambelle took that to herself and started reading the journals her husband, Richard wrote and learned about the Dogs. And how old he truly was. She was amazed an captured by the dogs stories and felt she needed to find out her self.  

“Okay kids listen up, this is a secret that needs to remain a secret you hear me. Copper… Down…” Copper wags his tail and lays down beside the surprised kittens still mumbling all kinds of questions. 

“You all be quiet now… And listen… This wall has a secret door into a small shed on the other side. Creating a pathway to the dog’s world. It is here, we found copper.” 

“Lady Chamb…” 

“Sssst I found about this after reading some stories and the exit was blocked. Or so we thought because how did this little fellow come in. And still we could not find a way out. Since we know that cats and dogs have lived n peace before we took him in. And now we are back because Copper must have heard something. There are always lots of barks outside the wall for us we might not know the difference.” 

Before she could even finish her story a secret door is opening up behind the kittens and copper. Hair raised in the neck and copper with his head low showing his teeth and growling fierce. A deadly intent in his once happy eyes.

The Fishy Lighthouse! Part 34.

The Dogs and McSniff don’t waste any time and uncover the body of the dog who lost her life for what she believed in. between her teeth they found a small pin that meant she was with a resistance and on the side of cats. The half cat half dog head will be left on her chest when the dirt hits her body.  

“William do you think you can handle things here rebuilding and fixing. I will take Jean with me and try to reach the lighthouse. If we not back in three days go home.” 

-“I am sorry Mcsniff it is a could idea but we will be fine staying here and rebuilding. Let us be of some meaning for the cats. take William and go. We will handle it here.”  Jean gestures the two cats to keep on going as he carves the last words underneath the date in a the tree she is buried next to. “She who believed and fought for peace” 

McSniff looks at William with questioning eyes and wiggling whiskers. “You up for this William?” 

-“I came this far didn’t I and for some reason I am excited to meet who ever is behind this. The stories intrigue me. I recently joined this world and I want to know more about it. Maybe meeting an old Hero or a witch. Ready or not I am coming with you as we got this assignment together.” William is smiling showing his enthusiasm by wagging his tail as if a dog. Making the men behind him laugh like barking Hyenas. 

‘suit yourself William, but since you done such a good job n the bridge I thought this was more suited for you” 

-“I did not do anything I just told the carpenters and builders what to do, and you were there to protect them. ” 

A beam drops beside McSniff with jean next to it. “Will you already. I am starting to think cats are lazy.” Another round of laughter is left behind as the two head out towards the destination. 

… 

In the mean time in Paris the young Lady Chambelle and the orphans are playing with Copper again. The other ladies sitting gracefully with a cup of tea in their paws have a twinkle in the eyes as the kittens have so much fun. Maybe even wishing they were young again. 

But then Copper stops running and raises his head high as the little pup can. Rotating his head and move his ears around a bit. Then lets out a bark and starts running in a straight line. all the orphans scream and shout after him. They call him back by his name, pleading to come play again.  

One of the boys decides to run after Copper to and shout everyone to follow. Lady Chambelle, Kitty and Cooky also heard this and jump up. And as they to start running Lady Chambelle notices that they are heading towards the small shed the retrieved Copper from. Little does she know she is up for an even bigger surprise, she could have imagined.

It has been a while since I wrote a part for this story and today I got me a new part for you to read.

The Fishy Lighthouse! Part 30

William has listened carefully and slaps himself in the face. “All good and well about what happened or might have happened. We need to get that fish back flowing but before we can do that I think we need to get some rest and work out a plan tomorrow.” 

-“I think you might be right William, we ned to be well rested if we might get into trouble tomorrow” McSniff licks his paw and brushes it over his face. “What say you Jean?” 

His tongue slobbers across his lips “I could not agree more with the two of you. Let us sleep” 

Before they all turn out their lights again it is William staring back at that picture again, “Something is bothering me about this picture and I can’t get my paw on it.” 

-“Give it up William, clear you head, get some sleep” McSniff mumbles digging his face under his tail curled up on the small bed. 

“Yeah you are right”

A days travel away in Paris it is Cynthia Chambelle also being awake trying to stop the little puppy for crying and howling. Still unable to speak it is everybody’s guess what he is crying over. the young little lad is  making his squeaky noises and walks restless around inside the barn.  

the door swings open and there stands Cooky and a basket of food. “I am so sorry for calling you over Milady, but I did not know what else to do. We can’t have him turn a city in panic. I brought some food and a blanket. He is more quiet with you around Milady” 

-“It is okay Cooky, Sorry I asked you to stay with him tonight, we will find a way. He must be missing his family. We did find him abandoned in that little shed on the other side of the wall. He is our irst and we have much to learn about them.” 

Her paw reaches out into the basket and gets a filet of fish out by her nail. Holding it up in front of the puppy he take couple of short sniffs before sneezing.Lady Chambelle and Cooky just look at each other and start smiling. Seeing Copper taking he filet in his mouth and starts eating. The blanket is spread over a pile of drying grass for a comfortable stay. Also is a bowl filled with water. Cooky holds it up so Copper can drink from it and splashes Cooky wet while doing so. 

Not before long the three of them lay together on the blanket. “Milady? Do u think we can live together with the dogs?” 

-‘I think we can Cooky, I am just not sure how yet.” 

“But Milady how did you come up with the idea to even try? Dogs are dangerous for us. Did they not hunt and eat us?” 

-“What if I told you Cooky that there was a time we might have lived together, would you believe me?” 

“Milady, for as long as I had the pleasure of serving you, I have always found you spoke your heart and true. I won’t doubt you now, Milady. But if I may ask a question. How do you know this Milady?”
