Monday Moaning: Medicated Drugs
Now soon as you read the title of this post you must have had an idea. And I a pretty sure many of you looked at the prescribed Marijuana. Which is understandable and may cause for some concern. yet some even thought of the pills doctors prescribe with ease. Xanax anyone or would one rather have an Oxy.
Clearly are many option when it comes to Medicated drugs. Is there a difference between drugs and medicine. How thin is the line between the two really. Is our observation or views on both worlds being distorted. These are just some question I ask myself and have me look with a critic eye to those around me and have an opinion on the matter. Is it as black and white as people like us to believe. Where does this concern come from and what makes something a medicine or a drug?
If just look at what makes a drug or medicine one only have to look at Oxy to have an answer that goes against everything. Though it is a medicine usually prescribed by a doctor it is also used as a drugs. In the first place it is a medicine when prescribed. And it Is not so much a big deal.
Still if we talk about prescribed weed or marijuana we go bonkers. because how can a drugs even be a medicine. It is a drugs period. Just thinking that has you on a one track mind. And if one would ask me, it would even e a distorted opinion.
How come we are so one track minded when it comes to legal medicine against illegal drugs. the only difference between the drugs is one is prescribed b a doctor, a person we like to trust of doing good. But when a discussion comes up to make marijuana legal or at least medically prescribed we have our opinions ready that drugs should not be legal that way.
Kids eat Oxy like damn m&m’s and they get it prescribed as well. Are you saying that is okay. but relieving a cancer patient from pain is not?
Now the discussion is just very shallow up t this point. because what is drugs and what is medicine? We can’t even answer that truthfully. As the past has clouded our thinking. The way we had our witch hunts on drugs.
In some way I am devil’s advocate. being Dutch and having easy access to marijuana and hasj it might be clear I do believe in legalizing with good control. We have our coffeeshops who have to obey some rules and laws in order to keep providing and open for business. At any giving time the amount should not be exceeded. there is a set weight for any given strain.
The reason I am telling you this is, that our thoughts are different. And so are our opinions but even a legal prescribed medicine is a drug. And that drugs s being prescribed faster in this era than anything before.
Would we ook at some history writings. We see doctors experimenting with leafs (like weed) to kill pain. It was normal to smoke as it relieved pain and stress. Never did we think of the consequences. yet now smoking is banished. Marijuana is now a drugs. How long will it take before we say other kind of pills are just the same.
To be prescribed medicines that can be easily seen as drugs since they have the same characteristics like any other kind of drugs or so labelled pill, plant or medicine.
Will we ever be able to be truthful to ourselves and see that not every thing is what we say or are told it is. Medicine can be drugs to so why can’t a drugs be used as a medicine. The medicated drugs is legal because a doctor says you should use it. It is funny that one man can make a drugs legal with an ‘john Hancock’.
But when they prescribe a drug that is claimed to be a drug it never will be a medicine.
I am kind of loosing some clarity right now. We are obsessed with artificial synthetic drugs in pill form we dislike the natural calming drugs. One of the blogs I follow talked about that 70% of the western population is on a legal drug. To control there stressed life and have them cope with reality. A medicine that is just as addictive as any other kind of so called drug. yet we feel it is normal.
What is the difference between a medicine and a drug. I am not sure anymore. Maybe neither is good, but than why not think it over. And change the system. Why can’t I have a smoke when I feel the need to. but is it okay to take a pill. Will there be a time we see that most of us are on medicated drugs.
Just a rant this Monday moaning. Unsure where the line is between one and the other and why we are so opposed to one side.
