Kingdom of Crestoria! 23
“Princess, me laydee, we be need of a new furnace.”
The princess stared at he gap created. With a paralyzed gaze she watched the embers melt from it and cool down in a black rock once it hit the floor.
“What.. Huh.. How?” Despite her trying to keep her stature as the next in line of the Kingdom she stuttered. Tongue tied to even find the words she was meant to bring across in the first place.
Duncan stood there gazing back and forth, from the princess to the furnace. In disbelief dropping the sword back in the box from which it came. Just a single swing in the air and all this happened.
Garreth picked the horn up and slit it slowly into a leather sheath. Prints of dragons and four mystic silhouettes carved from the metal felt smooth and detailed. Each of them looked familiar but he couldn’t yet make out what they were.
The smithy laughed as he held the sheathed dagger. “Me’d had been waitin’ foh this day! Me’s at peace Duncan!”
He handed over the dagger with a grin. All the while the princess had not moved a single inch.
It was Grub who walked in and had her return from where ever her mind had been dazing.
“Princess you ready yet. Did you tell him.” It was just the moment he walked around the corner he to saw the large black rock on the floor and the broken furnace. “What happened here?”
With a jump Grub leaped passed the princess and waved his hand in front of her eyes. “Did you stun her? Princess. The hag is getting restless.”
She shook her head and was brought back all together. “What is it.”
Grub looked seriously this time speaking into the ears of this warrior princess.
“Right I forgot. Hurry up we need to go.!”
-“Wait me to” Duncan pointed at his own chest.
“Seriously have you paid any attention to what we have told you. You’re my lackey now Duncan.”
She stared fiercely accompanied by a sinister smile with an twitch in her left eye became stronger after a look over her shoulder to his reaction. She felt ignored as Grub was talking with Duncan about the dagger he had placed on his waist. A vein pulsed rapidly on her temple until she could not hold herself any more.
All hammers tables and what not vibrated as her roar crossed the chamber, stunning Duncan, Grub and even the big smithy Garreth to a halt.
“We are going and don’t ignore me.”
She walked of with stumping feet and had Grub pull along Duncan behind her. Through the window in the palace you could see the port and small harbour. Two large air ships were docked and inflating their balloons. Shaped like large boomerangs they carried wooden ships beneath them. All Duncan could do was imagine what it would be like to fly on them and get to the main land.
HIs mind dwelled at what he had seen in his vision, trying to make sense why he had been summoned to a place like this. Already has he seen strange animals, or people… He stopped and look over to the princess. “What should I call you?”
To be continued…
