Kingdom of Crestoria! 22
As the box has been opened the light quickly dissipates together with the dramatic and mystical mist. Probably because of the hot metal and crystal that was used to unlock it. Inside tightly embraced by leather laid a yellowish horn cut in the shape of a small curved sword. But it was smaller just like Garreth mentioned it to be a dagger.
Across the length it had a lascivious curve on both sides with a curve cross the surface. Not a straight angle was to be found. It looked like a dent before the midway point of the outer curve that gave it a strange look. It made the tip look bigger than the rest.
Carvings were added along the centre line and none of which I could read, so they must be of another language or origin.
Its handle was covered in a leather strap woven around it, making it look even more beautiful. Though I say beautiful, the horn looked dull and the metal used was black. There was very little shine to it, not even when Garreth held it up in the light of the furnace it just absorbed the colours.
“Me best work, and not a soul was able to handle it. This be yews from now on.’ Garreth smiled handing over the dagger that balanced in the palm of his hand.
Soon as my hand touched the grip my armour on my other arm started to glow. Just as the sword did.
Along the edge a crystal lining appeared and it glowed a vibrant red releasing flames that embraced the entire horn without burning its user. Both pieces resonated with each other and gave Duncan the scare of his life. He could feel the souls of both items connect with his heart.
“Well me be damned, it never done thah foh me! Yew truly are thy one to wield it!”
Garreth just smiled and threw his hands in the air celebrating he found a wielder for his own horn. Only to make a full swing into the back of Duncan who stood wide eyed in a frozen state.
He flew head first towards the furnace where its flames had slowly died into nothing more than glowing ambers. It was his dagger that hit the stone block that kept it al in place. It dug deep into it with its ruby glow. Lighting the embers behind it to be engulfed and melt through the gap.
It left the two baffled before the roar of Garreths laugh filled the room.
“Thah be maybe a little tew strong. HAhaha” His approval game in the form of his large hands pat down onto Duncan’s shoulder.
“What is so funny? Smithy are the two of you done yet.” It was the princess sulking still due to her humiliation she had to endure in that mock battle. “It is about time you go and do something stupid elsewhere, far away from me. Father. I mean the king wants to see you off. SO move it.”
