Kingdom of Crestoria! 9
I take my distance form the turtle and the lioness and watch them talk with lots of slashing hand gestures. My scary mind is again stirred up with a possible conversation and it frightens me as it thought of the possibility they would just chop of my head soon as they would found out I was not the hero they had found.
Just shook my head and never even noticed where they were taking me. By the time I noticed I found myself walking in flower scented hallways and corridors rich of sun light that came through large arched windows as you would find in western churches. The fragrance came from a gentle breeze through open windows and had me consumed so much I took a step closer and take a deep breath.
The view was something I never had seen before. The golden sun shone above a mountain peak and lit up a vibrant green as far as my eyes could reach. Closer by the fields were covered in different colours. There are also a lot of bridges, but on second look they seem to be either shorter or longer Gold and purples, every colour of the rainbow just mixed and matched in no order. For an instant I was so close I could see the wind make the petals dance and lift the fragrant mist up with it.
“No, no. I couldn’t have seen that” I turn my head towards the princess and Grub who are just smirking. “I must be losing it for sure.”
-“You coming or what, we don’t have all day you know and I have a surprise for you after you met the scholar. Kind of a celebration to welcome you.”
I keep my lips closed and walk silently towards the two only to see them move away from me again as I got closer. I won’t give it anymore thought, guess I just have to go with what ever comes my way in this freak show. Lions with wings and hair on fire. Turtle like dwarfs with a shield of hair. A queen, “arrrrrrrg”
“We are here, pull it together. You wanted answers, this where you get them. You can find master Scowler inside.” The princess points at a large door with a tag that reads ‘booklatory’ with several visible nails that were bend and crooked. It was an half assed attempt on carpentry, most likely by someone who had no idea how to hammer a nail.
-“Wait what, your not coming in?” My face was sure to show fear of the unknown hiding behind this door. But it didn’t matter to Grub who was already pushing open the door.
The princess just smiled with her arms crossed in front of her. “Don’t worry he isn’t as scared as my mum so you’d be fine.”
“Haha Princess you sure are afraid of him.”
-“Grub shut up, you little weaslish. Mmmpfff” The princess snuffs and turns her head away. “Besides we need to prepare for your welcome party.” Her voice changed as she spoke those words. There it was again. That smile and glistening in her eyes. Just her stare ran like a shiver up my spine.
But for now lets get some answers. I walk slowly and carefully into the room. Just to be sure I put my toes down first and sneak in. I look around me and hope for no more surprises as the sound of the door closing was heard behind me. The slam was loud and startled me and I look back at the door.
“Nothing to see, thank god…. “
