Monday Moaning: Blame Respect!
Something completely different and an issue of this day. It is occurring more and more as well. The title isn’t a joke as we do things in its name.
Respect have we forgotten what it means. To admire or be admired for who or thing done. Very short version.
We seem to have forgotten it works both ways at ALL TIMES. It s is never, not once a one way street.
Though the issue at hand is for starters the police. We all seen the news we all heard the stories of a police officer killing a civilian. Either by gun shot or choking when in an arm lock. This should not be happening under no circumstance yet it does in the most unfavourable ways and moments.
But where did it start or how did we come to this point. Nobody seems to ask that or want to know. Okay we have video these days and some do show some extreme use of force. I get that. BUt is that the whole truth?
No again it is not defending the police officer it questioning our behaviour. That of the normal you and me as well the officer of the law.
In some cases there is racism that is the reason for using excessive force. Though it s the same as not having any respect for the other person. This is as well one of the biggest reasons. And our first example where we lack respect.
This is not so much respecting colour or what they done it is for a human being. A living human being of flesh and blood. Just like you and me only with a different skin colour.
And it becomes a reason to plunder, create chaos burning down shops of hard working people.
Blaming respect or the lack off.
Though who gave you the right to disrespect the owner of the shop? Or an officer who does not have that prejudice? How come we show disrespect to those who have nothing to do with the entire ordeal.
Two weeks ago an officer supposedly, (this is because the they are still investigating) choked a man in his 50’s. All we got to see was a drunk man in a head lock being carried into a police car. He died. So far a word is that he had a heart attack and the combination with the shortage of oxygen he died. Hence reason they are investigating.
Now what he done was wrong, but there are two sides to a story. One might not be told in all honesty. Yet what the officer done was wrong. He knows martial art as a way to defend and subdue the perpetrator. Using a little to much force and surely it ends right there and then.
Though what about a person struggling. Fighting the arresting officer, whether he has reason or not to arrest you is not for us to question. As a person struggles or fight the lock will be tighter giving a greater chance of suffocating.
Respecting the law it is one thing we are taught. Still children these day do not respect an officer. They spit at them and even attack them with out cause. Or just use the reason that the police does not respect them.
Does one know what it looks like to have respect or getting it. Nobody does really, it is mostly shown in our actions.
So who is the wrong using a single wrong to plunder shops, burn down cars of innocents people. In what way is that respect. Attacking a police station, which isn’t even the station where the investigated officer works. Is that the kind of respect we like to show.
I would have to add I know the police from the United Kingdom and let me tell you that a officer in the Netherlands is somewhat of a pussy compared to those Bobbies. The UK police does not wear firearms, which may sound strange but it works. Though when an officer warns your two times you can be sure he will tackle you a third time.
We of some reasonable thinking would listen to a warning or a request to stop. It is how you show some respect and face it if you done nothing wrong why worry. This way he will talk with a normal and respectful tone to you. It is different when you fight him off. The tackle of these man and women are hard.
Story and video only tell a part of the entire truth. But none of us should pass judgement on that. Soon as we fight there is bound to be people fighting back or protecting. Yes even the police who come charging in with drawn sticks and shields are dis respecting a community while they try to protect the community form burning and breaking down. Protecting the people who have nothing to do with this. But all we see is hatred and call it disrespect.
I am sick and tired of those who think it is okay to plunder in the name of respect. They show the least of in my opinion. To other human beings who work hard to be respectful human beings while they become victims to those who show none.
This path that has been chosen by law and people is one of conflict. Both of us are in the wrong though, both sides show lack of respect.
So I ask of you to stop using an honourable word for war. Because that is what we are asking for and it turns to much into hatred with our already short fuses.
This is a delicate issue of that I am very much aware. I’m not defending nor passing judgement on the matter. This is just me flipping a coin and visiting the flip side of things. This is but one issue as there is one going around about religion and how loving/respecting a neighbour turns into murder and war.
