The Fishy Lighthouse! Part 33
A group of cats and dogs follow the route that was once made for the fish canal that runs from the lighthouse to Paris. The cats in Paris started to get uneasy as the nets dragged through the pond hold less fish. It has only been a couple of days but the impact is great. Small riots happen out on the streets where knights have gathered o keep some peace.
Some cats even shout out a conspiracy that the King sold them out to the dogs. They claim that if the fish runs out they are made o hunt outside the walls in dog territory.
Little do they know that it is Lady Chambelle who has a dog within the walls hoping to understand the dogs and find a way to live together. They do not know about the McSniff is outside those protective boundaries to find out why the fish stopped coming. They feel uneasy having to pay more fr that little fish there is.
In the dinning hall in the palace even the King sees the suffering within his kingdom. And his eyes look bleak with his paws folded, mumbling a prayer for those how are hurt and hungry. Words of hope and ‘possibilities’ roll off his lips. Wen he uttered the word ‘Solution’ his whiskers twitch.
It is a early morning and all kinds of things are happening during breakfast hours.
McSniff and the group of dogs have found one of the in between stations all torn down. Outside of the station is a pile of ash still smouldering. From the safety of a tree line they look around to see if it safe to get closer. Jean and some of his companions walk up like normal dogs. Their paws held up high to wave the others it is safe to come out.
Underneath all that rubble runs the canal. Could it have caved in after all. There is nothing left of what once a building that was once above ground. Just a small cabin with a cave system underneath. McSniff and William look through the rubble and find the same picture again that hung on the wall where they met the dogs.
“It looks like we need to clear the floor in order to see below and fix what needs fixing.
“You said it William but than what about that lighthouse story. It s going to take up a couple of days to clean this up. And the Parisians may not have that much time. There maybe enough fish for now but that is the least of our worries. We can’t have them fight among themselves. Luckily they might not have expected us to come out here though.”
McSniff’s paws run through the rubble and lift a stone up only to find a paw and a small face of a little dog. The Snauzer’s beard is covered in blood. “he must have fought to the death, but he is so little, why would dogs do this?”
Jean howls loud and than lowers his head down holding on to the shoulder of William. He might have been killed for being in this cabin. wrong place wrong time. We might never know but will give him a proper grave her in the woods. Protecting a hope makes him r her a hero.”
