Detective McDougal! Part Tredici
Three small holes with charred edges are left behind in his coat and shirt, The shown skin having red circles surrounding a patch of pale skin are vanishing like snow for the sun. Leaving nothing more than a faint scar.
“Sorry, I need to take away the effect that was left from the bullet. It was drenched in a potion made by my sister. I told you our family has connections with witchcraft and fortune telling.”
-“I know Susan you told me about the two parts of the family, but I never felt it before. I was dying that is all I know” Jerry turns around and grabs Susan by her shoulders, gazing deep in her eyes “I was dead remember and I woke up in a hospital with you by my bed side. And I heard the story from you.”
“It wasn’t just beside your bed now was it?” Her smile is a sexy one with her body thrown against his body and arms wrapping around his neck.”
-“Come on lets us go home”
Staying away from the main road they walk through the smaller deserted streets looking for a place to call home again. It has been their way of living for some time now trying to find the key to lock away the syndicates and its players. Breaking it down to shambles so Susan could live free from her ancient past. holding each other tight they keep on walking towards uncertain tomorrow.
On their way home they discuss that fateful night that brought them here today. Grey clouds patching up the sky and having the moon only peek through once in while. He never seen the gun, just heard the words of that sister about protecting her or something. the flash of the gun and the burning sensation in his chest. He never felt the drop onto the floor or heard the screams from Susan. How the next second the apartment would fill with a storm and blue light. Vines wrapping up the man on the floor and whipping her sister out of the room.
“I am sorry Jerry, I got you involved in this dispute, and I got these people killed today becuase I wanted to sing again”
-“It is not your fault and did I not tell you, you were my prime suspect before I got shot. I really liked you and was conflicted. Who would have thought of a twin sister. All because she had a different name she stayed out of sight. It all made sense.
“But you got shot, and than there is the potion form my sister I can only keep stalling from killing you”
-“You will find a way… Hey this seems to be a good place to stay the night.”
The not so shabby looking door holds four small windows each. Through them you can see a desk clerk reading a book behind the large reception counter. A bell rings as the two open the door having the clerk react and push his glasses onto his nose while he takes the stand.
“Welcome to the Griffin Wings. how can I help you… J-Jerry?”
