So I created this silly poem of somebody we all might have been at some point in time or may have met. Giving it a little twist to the faceless man prompt at the Reverie. As a bartender I seen many faces and yet so many were alike. Just as uch knowing full well to sit in silence, being the one of the faceless drinking to remember.
Dreaming Drunk!
Never do I leave
my dreams
to be with you
and so here I sit
having a drink
half the part of two.
Estranged I beg
your reflections
to show my truth
becoming of me
my thoughts
our forbidden youth.
Unknown paths
I travelled
seeking for you
and so here I sit
having a drink
half the part of two.
Can’t remember
what I look like
bizarre so true
lost in the moment
I try so hard
to remember only you.
An empty seat
beside me
it’s reserved for you
and so here I sit
having a drink
half the part of two.
I raise the glass
to honour
she I truly love
watch over me
my darling
flying high above.
Drowned in sorrow
sinking deep
in dreams with you
invisible I sit
getting drunk
a half that’s missing you.

That’s a really good piece!
Tnx 🙂 Icesabel. Found myself like that in many occasions.. LOL xx
I really like the spin on the glass half full/empty wistfulness and longing – flows and goes down easy like an alcoholic tipple – cool piece Crow!
Thank you. I just went as the glasses were filled and emptied. Truly missing wishing wanting.
Thank you for stopping by and leaving your thoughts.
Well done. It sounds like it could be a song. Also check mines out when you have the time.
