Heads are being lowered and silence fills every corner of the rooms and halls. “I am sorry” Are mumbled by Jerry as he walks way with Susan out the door. His chest aching furiously.
In a racing car with blacked out windows A woman is looking angry. Those damn fools. What the hell were they thinking blowing up that safe. “ARGGGH Humberto Why did you not control your goons. One simple task is all they had, Kill every one in the club capture my sister. Is that so hard. And still you morons were able to let her escape. And that cop, he is still alive, I can feel it. How did she ge involved with that pig. I should have killed him when I had the chance.
Why did she save his ass, betraying me with a spell. Damn you Susan. I will get to you sooner or later I am your sister after all, I need your skill to make the clan even bigger and better. ”
Her frustrated and fierce look is hidden behind her long dark curly hair, only when she turns her head to look out the window you can catch a glimpse of the amber eyes glowing. Putting the glass of her rink with almost completely melted ice to her lips for a short sip. Her perfectly sharpened nails tap against the glass. “Call Bruno, I need him for this job. That cop is spelling trouble in capitols.”
A crooked smile appears when she brushes aw her hair and faces Humberto. The eyes have lost there glow. “Should you not be calling someone. And what abut the police radio, did they mention anything. You did leave some dead monkeys behind right.”
“Yes I did Signora, in the tunnel and the club near the entrance. The only know of the car and blaming the local mafia. They have found some dead men with guns, but are not affiliated with the Mafia so far.”
Outside the bank in a small alley Jerry and Susan walk quietly as more police cars pass them by on the main street with their high speed turning corners to make the tires squeak. His chest is burning so much he grabs a hold of it leaning against a brick wall. “Are you okay Jerry, here let me”
Susan places her hand on his back and start chanting. A faint blue light shines from the stone in her ring. Like a vine it runs across her hand and fingers before turning to ash and vanish into a breeze. Jerry’s body reacts with a deep breath his eyes wide open. “What was that?”
So much for this weeks McDougal. A story where mystery is only just beginning.
