The Fishy Lighthouse! 16
The voices coming from the hall can clearly be identified as that of Lady Chambelle and Kitty. They are laughing and grinning. Talking loud how cute it was and playful. “What do you think we should next for training?” Lady Chambelle asks, but Kitty stays quiet after she got a glimpse of Will standing in the library with a glass in his hand.
“Oh, I am so sorry I did not see you William.” Lady Chambelle drapes her black cloak over her arm and makes subtle bow. “Tommy dear would you excuse me please.” In the back Kitty to is taking of a dark coloured cloak and brushes her apron straight.
The awkward silence when the men were spotted is pretty evident and is broken by Richard “Very well Cynthia darling, I won’t be long either. Let me finish my drink with Will.” Richard stand up and walks over to those felines and flips his thumb up, throwing the handle over the tail and hanging his glass back. “Kitty, is Williams room ready?”
Kitty takes the place of Lady Chambelle in the door way trying to hide her guilt with a innocent blush and looking away with her eyes. “Yes, yes sir. I will show William his room when he is ready.”
The silence returns as she slowly walks away with a deep sigh echoing quietly in the hall. Followed by whispers of a not so quiet Cooky, you can hear the two leave towards the kitchen. Will did not take too much notice of the words spoken as Richard was poking the fire and calling out to him. “Hey Will, what do you think of Cynthia? I am worried she might be caught into something.”
Sparks flying from the logs being separated and quickly extinguish and vanishing in thin air. In a clumsy manner Will is trying to hang back the empty glass. It stands shaking one paw as the other tries to lift up the handle that fell to the wrong side. “What? Oh fuck” The balance of the glass shifted forward. With a quick raise of his paw he has to release the bucket handle that only just falls over the tip of tail. Hooking the glass in and have it swinging back and forth.
A sigh of relieve escapes William’s mouth. “Phew. That was close.” Will looks over to Richard who is still watching the last flames dancing across the blocks. “What do you mean, Richard? Did something happen to her?”
-“She was always a lady. A bit snobby on times, but always smiling, she was a joy to be with. Unlike me she was determined and stood on her grounds after making a choice. She receives as much respect as she gives others. That is the feline I married.”
The final flames go out with a small hiss as Richard scoops over some of the ashes. “Since you helped her, saved her, she became more outgoing. Getting involved with the Orphans, she is even learning how to fence and fight. All of a sudden she tells me she needs to be able to stand up for herself.” His eyes fill with water as he turns his head to will who is just listening to Richard spilling his heart. “I know I was not there the last time to save her. This just feels like I failed her. Do you think…?”
Richard turns silent and waits for Will to say something.
Hope it was to your liking once again. Hope to see you next week for more McSniff and Lady Chmabelle.
