The Fishy Lighthouse! Part 7.
-“Well we are cats Sir William so we wash ourselves with our tongue, but have to say a bath is faster and very relaxing if you are used to it. The first time sure was a nightmare”
“Do you have a towel for me, Kitty?” William looks around over the edge of his bath. Seeing Kitty facing away and putting away the old rags in a bag, he is thinking of what got him here and how much he wants those answers from Richard.
While he is still soaking away Kitty continues her story, not even having heard his question about the towel. “The fish tanks have been there since I can remember. We use nets to catch our fish from those tanks. My daddy had a small barrel with small fish we shared with our neighbour. Mamma was working hard at the time at a mansion and sometimes bringing home a big salmon or part of it. Guess we were lucky.” Her eyes get a little droopy and stare down at the floor reminiscing over her past.
“I am sorry Kitty, but do you have a towel for me so I can get out of this bath?” William is panting; his body tired from the long soak. Even feeling his skin wrinkle underneath his fur.
-“Oh I am so sorry, it is right here” Her hand is stretched out with the blush lighting up her cheeks holding a big fluffy towel. As William reached out for and taking it from her hand, she turns around.
“Tell me more about the tanks please how do you get the fish here, how is it caught? Gosh I have so many questions.” Drying of his face before wrapping it around his waist he walks past Kitty into the large bedroom. “Lady Chambelle done nice to build her a bath we can use”
-“I did not mean to sound down Sir William…”
“Will is just fine; just call me Will, Kitty”
-“I will…, Will.” Her body says it all, nervously turning her paws over one another, uncomfortable calling him Will or is there more going on in her head. “About the fish, uhm well I am not sure. There is a story about a lighthouse and a underground tunnel, but I do not know any details. It is that I overheard Richard one time talking to one elderly cat. We are always told the fish just swims here in the big pond or sea we created. At the market you can buy fish to cultivate more fish in your own tanks. Or just buy one for dinner. It is not that we like water and just go fishing them out.”
Will smiles, pulling tight his pants and straightening his shirt “Now see? How does one get them over here across the country from the oceans? You have balloons so maybe they are flown in, never thought of a tunnel. Though that raises more question. You never have seen an ocean before, have you?”
Kitty giggles at his easy posture, as if he feels at home “I am sorry to say I have not. I heard lots of great stories and seen beautiful art about the beach. I think all children have a wish to see it once in their lifetime. “
With his jacket pulled over his shoulder William stands tall, proud and dressed “You are right everyone should. Well I am ready; let us go see Richard and Lady Chambelle”
