Heart Ship! The quest for forbidden love.
The night is long and i could not remember a single dream if i dreamed at all. It was the sun waking me. Through a small window its warmth burned in to the skin. Making the black behind the eyes a morning red. The inlet was lit up as the sun reflected of the white cliffs. The over grown spots made it look like it was shimmering just like the gentle waves.
Another night has passed and entered a new day I am going back to land. A walk up to the deck with a piece of old bread I sniff in the morning air. The water looks so calm ad a nice blue I decided to take a dive and freshen myself up by taking a swim. It is a simple task for any man throwing of the shirt on your back, kicking of the boots heavy from al that sand showing the socks with holes big enough for a pig to crawl through. But is all good for a man who is away so long from home.
Climbing on the edge. Jumping head first into the water. The cold salty waters refreshing the body and mind. Lying on the back staring at the blue sky with its little puffy clouds. I drift using my arms as a rudder and paddle, around my ship. Everything is looking intact. No big damages to my ‘Yellow Rose’.
I watch the breeze taking away the clouds. Their direction going straight for the inlet. It is time. I need to go now. If I do not I might be have to stay another day if not longer. Climbing up the small rope ladder back on to he ship. Getting my shoes back on. And with the sun on my back I start releasing a sail. The gentle breeze filling the canvas and creating a beautiful curve.
All the hard work will be worth while. I am sure as soon as I am back on land. Pulling up the anchor and feeling the ship move its way to the inlet. The night has done me well. I feel well rested and capable of doing more. I must have needed it. Steering the ship in to he inlet. The rocks now on one side hidden in shadows. I come out into the open ocean. may the winds be gentle and the sea have peace as I have my ship cut through them.
Making the waves with the wind pushing me ahead. I linger on what the future might bring. Thoughts that urge me to make haste. My body now dry from the sun starts burning as the midday arrives sooner than anticipated. Who cares anyway, today will be my day and nothing can stand in my way.
A quick tie of the wheel, I walk across the deck. Picking up my shirt to put back on and lower a second sail to get me home a little faster. As I climb in the ropes I can see a ship in the distance. Squinting my eyes to see better and if I can distinguish their make. They are still to far away to see, but I might get ready for anything.
